It’s a wine/wine situation
Alright, so almost everyone thinks Tuscany produces the best wine in Italy. Well the winemakers of Abruzzo are the quietly confident kind of people, they know their wines are the best so there is no need to boast.
Montepulciano D’Abruzzo is the crown jewel of wines native to this region and deservedly so, but the other wines or no slouches. Trebbiano is a fantastic white wine, and Pecorino is not just cheese it is also a wine only from Abruzzo. In fact, because the Abruzzo soil is so rich and fertile it can grow a wide variety of vines therefore producing a wide variety of wines. But what is most impressive is the Chieti province of Abruzzo produces more wine than any of the other 107 provinces of Italy.
Grape vines like hills, the best grapes come from vines on a mountain side and Abruzzo has a lot of mountains.
