What’s cooking today in Abruzzo? Lentil soup!
This is the real comfort food, very tasty and healthy!
- Black pepper
- Bay leaf
- Olive oil
- Italian sausage
Wash the lentils. Add a little bit of olive oil in a hot pant, then add the chopped onion and carrot and celery. Add a bit of sausage. A little quick sautee, then add bay leafs, rosemary and sage. Cook, stirring often, for 5 minutes then add a little bit of tomato, just to give a bit of flavour and color.
Add water. When the water starts boiling, add the lentils. Cook them for about 45 minutes on a medium heat.

This is exactly how my mother made lentil soup, I still make it that way today. Hi Massimo you are doing so good and I am so happy for you.
