Culinary tour in Italy

Participating in a Culinary Tour in Italy you will pursuit a unique and memorable eating and drinking experience. Culinary Tours differ from agritourisms in that culinary tourism is considered a subset of cultural tourism (cooking is a manifestation of culture) whereas agritourism is considered a subset of rural tourism. If you are staying in a agriturismo, you will be served poor food, modest accomodation and not much service.

While in a culinary tour, you will be served good quality food, professional service and comfortable accommodation. Of course not all places are the same. Some agriturismos can have a decent level of accomodation and they can be cheaper. But in the end, someone that is looking to have a memorable experience should not be looking to save a few euros.

Culinary tourism is an exploratory relationship with the edible world. Whether you go to food or food comes to you, the nature of the encounter is what defines a food experience as culinary tourism. Where food is the focus if travel, itineraries are organized around the cooking school. Food magazines and epicurean books, guide to people to the right location and the right cooking school. Sometimes, some cooking schools are more advertised by others. It is up to the individual to search and discover what is right for them.

Abruzzo Cibus Culinary Tours delivers a unique experience that will be exclusive and special like a gourmet tour should be. We like to emphasize that you will “be the only tourist” and that we are definitely off the beaten path.
